Flow Cytometry Analyst(m/w/x)
Performing clinical flow cytometry analysis and resolving specimen discrepancies. 6+ months flow cytometry data analysis experience required. Familiarity with FCSExpress, WinList, or FlowJo.
Requirements
- Medical Technologist or Medical Biology degree (CFC, BTS, Bachelor, DUT, IUT) or foreign degree with equivalency
- 6+ months laboratory operations experience
- 6+ months flow cytometry data analysis experience
- Intermediate English proficiency
- Familiarity with FCSExpress, WinList, or FlowJo
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Teamwork and independent work ability
Tasks
- Perform clinical laboratory flow cytometry analysis accurately and timely
- Resolve specimen discrepancies and notify laboratory management
- Retrieve and check specimens against pending list
- Document specimen discrepancies
- Perform routine testing and calculations
- Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems
- Evaluate new Calibrator and QC lots through experiments
- Summarize and compile experiment results for management review
- Document and interpret quality control results
- Follow Westgard rules or departmental procedures for quality control
- Document and correct unusual occurrences
- Analyze proficiency testing survey samples as patient specimens
- Manually enter data and ensure peer review
- Prepare and document test results
- Generate audit trails for all activities
- Report result reporting problems to laboratory management
- Complete testing within expected turnaround time
- Comply with regulatory guidelines and Labcorp SOPs
- Maintain up-to-date training file
- Correct training deficiencies
- Ensure training is documented before performing tasks
- Complete competency assessments and provide documentation
- Perform department duties as outlined in training checklists
- Assist in training new employees
- Attend department and mandatory meetings
- Pull data for QA and external clients
- Respond to internal QA and client audit findings
- Research and prepare responses for quality purposes
- Coordinate with other resources to resolve issues
- Respond to internal customer inquiries
- Retrieve and store samples for testing
- Understand department metrics and goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Take on additional responsibilities and opportunities
- Report activities to laboratory management upon request
- Perform other duties as assigned
