Field Application Scientist(m/w/x)
Developing protein-protein interaction assays and performing BLI analysis for in-vitro diagnostics, presenting at customer sites. PhD or MS with 5 years' experience, label-free technology expertise preferred. Extensive customer site travel, working with proprietary technologies.
Requirements
- PhD, MS with 5 years' experience, or experienced
- Experience with label free technology or similar instrumentation
- Experience with immunoassays development or similar technology
- Expertise in label-free technology products (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills
- Ability to develop contacts and build rapport
- Liquid Handler experience (advantageous)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SFDC, or CRM tools
- Ability to travel upwards of 50%
- Willingness to operate from remote home-base or on-site
- Ability to lift or move 50+ lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
- Ability to use hands for computer, phone, and pipetting
- Successful completion of a health screening
Tasks
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support
- Develop protein-protein interaction assays using proprietary technologies
- Deliver high-level technical presentations at customer sites and conferences
- Perform BLI analysis on customer samples for biomolecular interactions
- Conduct product demonstrations, seminars, and customer training
- Transfer expert hardware and software knowledge through training
- Stay current with new assay development and technology trends
- Support customer service initiatives and sales objectives
- Contribute to application notes and teaching manuals
- Write technical documents highlighting innovative BLI system applications
- Research new technologies through publications and patents
- Partner with industry collaborators and key opinion leaders
- Report competitor information to sales and product management teams
- Maintain high-quality standards across all internal and external processes
