Environmental Engineer (Environmental Impact Assessment)(m/w/x)
Managing environmental evaluation studies and impact assessments for complex scientific instruments at a nuclear research organization. Technical application of French and/or Swiss environmental regulations needed. 30 days paid leave, plus 2 weeks annual closure.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Experience in environmental evaluation processes for complex/large-scale projects
- Technical and management expertise in environmental protection
- Technical application of French and/or Swiss environmental regulations
- Coordination of multidisciplinary consulting firms
- Liaison with environmental authorities and stakeholders
- Experience as an environmental engineer on cross-border projects
- Contract management skills
- Project management skills
- Environmental protection knowledge
- Stakeholder relationship management skills
- Knowledge of EU, French, and Swiss environmental regulations and procedures
- Technical document drafting and writing skills
- Solid understanding of environmental assessment methods and analysis

- Self-management: autonomous work and initiative
- Teamwork: building effective work relationships
- Spoken and written French

Tasks
- Oversee and coordinate environmental evaluation studies.
- Manage environmental impact assessments for the project.
- Ensure project coordination meets French and Swiss regulations.
- Manage and monitor contracts with consulting firms.
- Ensure technical and administrative coordination between firms.
- Guarantee consistent environmental evaluation across France and Switzerland.
- Ensure environmental studies meet French and Swiss legislation.
- Organize and chair technical committees with experts.
- Ensure traceability of committee decisions.
- Contribute to multi-criteria impact analysis.
- Integrate avoidance, reduction, and compensation measures.
- Seek and integrate feedback from French and Swiss authorities.
- Monitor project schedule, budget, and deliverables.
- Ensure quality of produced documents.
- Share knowledge and inform Project Office and management.
- Raise awareness of public concerns to management.
