Requirements
- •Experience in electrical installations (high-voltage or low voltage)
- •Teamwork skills
- •Worksite experience
- •Knowledge of worksite safety rules
- •Construction, testing and installation of electrical systems
- •Technical document and test report writing
- •Spoken and written English or French, with commitment to learn the other language
- •Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- •Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electricity or related field
- •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
- •No Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree eligibility
- •Valid driving licence
- •Exposure to electromagnetic fields under certain conditions
- •Medical clearance before contract offer

Tasks
- •Work with electrical substations and high-voltage installations at 18 kV
- •Create 3-D mechanical drawings for integrating racks and control chassis
- •Develop electrical circuit diagrams for control and protection circuits
- •Build and install protection and control chassis, including cabling and testing
- •Supervise contractors on-site for control racks and protection relays
- •Coordinate high-voltage cable installation work
- •Participate in testing and commissioning of new installations and their systems
- •Study and implement new controls and protection relays for high-voltage projects
- •Conduct dielectric testing of insulation systems
