Requirements
- •Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, OPC UA, Modbus, PROFIBUS)
- •Knowledge and experience in electricity
- •Knowledge and practical experience of sensor readout chains and signal wiring design
- •Basic experience with cable assembly, connectorisation, and EMC practices
- •Basic experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g. SEE Electrical, EPLAN, Autocad Electrical)
- •Basic experience with Siemens PLC Simatic Step7 programming
- •Familiarity with WinCC OA or similar SCADA systems
- •Familiarity with CATIA or any mechanical CAD tools
- •Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language
Education
Tasks
- •Support construction and testing of the new CMS DSS
- •Connect and configure electronic cards and crates
- •Participate in manufacturing and installation of electronic crates for safety systems
- •Follow up on cable installation for signals between central DSS and subdetector safety systems
- •Engage in DSS testing and commissioning activities
- •Assist DSS expert in programming the alarm action matrix of the CMS detector
- •Collate data, prepare reports, and upload documentation to the database
- •Present progress of DSS team works to CMS Safety and Technical Coordination teams
