Requirements

  • •Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, OPC UA, Modbus, PROFIBUS)
  • •Knowledge and experience in electricity
  • •Knowledge and practical experience of sensor readout chains and signal wiring design
  • •Basic experience with cable assembly, connectorisation, and EMC practices
  • •Basic experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g. SEE Electrical, EPLAN, Autocad Electrical)
  • •Basic experience with Siemens PLC Simatic Step7 programming
  • •Familiarity with WinCC OA or similar SCADA systems
  • •Familiarity with CATIA or any mechanical CAD tools
  • •Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language

Tasks

  • •Support construction and testing of the new CMS DSS
  • •Connect and configure electronic cards and crates
  • •Participate in manufacturing and installation of electronic crates for safety systems
  • •Follow up on cable installation for signals between central DSS and subdetector safety systems
  • •Engage in DSS testing and commissioning activities
  • •Assist DSS expert in programming the alarm action matrix of the CMS detector
  • •Collate data, prepare reports, and upload documentation to the database
  • •Present progress of DSS team works to CMS Safety and Technical Coordination teams
