DevOps/Kubernetes Web Hosting Engineer(m/w/x)
Operating and evolving CERN's web hosting services on Kubernetes and OpenShift. Initial application deployment to Kubernetes/OpenShift experience required. 30 days paid leave, comprehensive health insurance, and pension fund membership.
Requirements
- Initial application deployment experience to Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Linux system administration experience
- Kubernetes security best practices familiarity
- Good knowledge of cloud native technologies, particularly Kubernetes and/or OpenShift/OKD
- Problem solving attitude
- Bash knowledge
- GoLang or Python programming knowledge (plus)
- Git, CI/CD tools, test and deployment automation familiarity
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Maximum two years professional experience since graduation in Computer Science or related field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- University degree required
- PhD not eligible
Tasks
- Run and operate CERN's Web Hosting services
- Evolve CERN's Web Hosting services using Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Support and grow CERN's OpenShift-based PaaS platform
- Integrate CERN identity and networking with Kubernetes operators
- Support deployment and configuration tools for platforms and applications
- Extend services to public cloud resources
- Guide and support website and application owners
- Provide migration paths for legacy web servers to modern environments
