Requirements

  • Initial application deployment experience to Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Kubernetes security best practices familiarity
  • Good knowledge of cloud native technologies, particularly Kubernetes and/or OpenShift/OKD
  • Problem solving attitude
  • Bash knowledge
  • GoLang or Python programming knowledge (plus)
  • Git, CI/CD tools, test and deployment automation familiarity
  • Spoken and written English
  • Commitment to learn French
  • National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Maximum two years professional experience since graduation in Computer Science or related field
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
  • University degree required
  • PhD not eligible

Tasks

  • Run and operate CERN's Web Hosting services
  • Evolve CERN's Web Hosting services using Kubernetes and OpenShift
  • Support and grow CERN's OpenShift-based PaaS platform
  • Integrate CERN identity and networking with Kubernetes operators
  • Support deployment and configuration tools for platforms and applications
  • Extend services to public cloud resources
  • Guide and support website and application owners
  • Provide migration paths for legacy web servers to modern environments
