Software and DevOps Engineer(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Initial experience in computing systems installation/configuration/operation/maintenance
- Experience developing with Python
- Experience with Git-based collaborative workflows
- Experience with Docker containers or willingness to acquire
- Willingness to learn and work across technical areas
- Experience with Linux environments (plus)
- Familiarity with CI and DevOps practices (plus)
- Experience with Python frameworks like Flask (plus)
- Experience interfacing with REST APIs (plus)
- Experience with Kibana, Fluent Bit or similar logging/visualisation tools (plus)
- Experience with OpenShift (plus)
- Python scripting and automation
- Web application development for internal tools
- Linux environment exposure
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to work with other technical groups
- Basic French language skills (advantage)
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or related field
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- University degree required
- PhD not eligible
Tasks
- Join a team managing CERN's software services
- Contribute to service operation and evolution
- Automate service processes
- Develop internal web applications
- Support users with software services
- Analyze software provisioning and licence usage
- Develop Python tools and dashboards
- Generate and maintain EDA tool containers
- Manage software access requests and approvals
- Provide user support for software installation
- Handle service requests through ServiceNow
- Participate in first-line support activities
- Support the e-mail service
- Collaborate with experienced team members
- Improve service processes
- Migrate licence management workflows
- Support contract renewal discussions
- Maintain in-house web tools
