Requirements
- •Experience in the design of mechanical systems and components
- •Knowledge of mechanical properties of materials and manufacturing or fabrication technologies
- •Experience producing 2D technical drawings in compliance with ISO dimensioning and tolerancing standards
- •Ability to analyse and solve basic mechanical engineering problems using strength-of-materials principles
- •Experience preparing clear technical reports and engineering documentation
- •Initial experience with precise mechanical assembly of components
- •Proficiency with CAD software (preferably CATIA V5)
- •Familiarity with mechanical calculation and analysis tools
- •Understanding of mechanical fabrication and assembly techniques
- •Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- •Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team
- •Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French
- •Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- •Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical engineering or a related field
- •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
- •University degree required
- •PhD not eligible

- •Prepare and maintain technical documentation
- •Verify manufacturing drawings for compliance with standards
- •Follow up on the manufacturing of mechanical parts
- •Liaise with workshops and suppliers
- •Participate in the assembly of HTS prototypes
- •Contribute to the mechanical integration of prototypes
