Requirements

  • Initial experience in building/underground construction, maintenance, or renovation
  • First exposure to planning, organizing, and coordinating trades
  • Knowledge of site measurements and cost control
  • Understanding of quality standards and site safety control
  • Evidence-based problem-solving and proactivity
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility and continuous learning ability
  • Spoken/written English or French, with commitment to learn other
  • National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Max 2 years professional experience post-graduation in Civil Engineering (or related)
  • Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
  • University degree required
  • PhD not eligible
  • Work in Radiation Areas
  • Interventions in underground installations
  • Valid driving licence

Tasks

  • Contribute to civil engineering project delivery
  • Support surface and underground infrastructure
  • Implement design specifications on site
  • Coordinate and monitor construction and renovation
  • Collaborate with internal customers and contractors
  • Ensure safety rules enforcement
  • Maintain quality of contractors' work
  • Follow best practices and technical specifications
  • Contribute to budget management
  • Coordinate project activities
  • Check and validate contractor quotes
  • Follow up on orders
  • Validate final measurements
  • Use CERN's computer tools
