Associate Director, People Operations, Europe(m/w/x)
Building and implementing HR operational processes and payroll infrastructure across Europe for a late-stage clinical oncology company. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience driving HR operations and payroll/benefits infrastructure implementation across multiple European countries
- Profound knowledge of labor law and practical understanding of broader European employment practices
- Experience in highly cross-functional, matrixed environments with global stakeholders
- Hands-on experience in fast-growing or scaling organizations; build-phase experience strongly preferred
- Team player leading with high standards
- Strong execution focus with ability to drive initiatives through cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions and geographies
- Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization
- Strong project management skills with experience leading multi-country implementations
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, as required
Tasks
- Build and implement HR operational processes across Europe
- Partner cross-functionally to align regional processes with global standards
- Lead operational readiness for new country expansions
- Drive payroll infrastructure implementation across multiple European countries
- Set up and operationalize payroll processes
- Support and excel in country-specific benefits programs
- Ensure coordination between payroll, benefits, Finance, and global teams
- Serve as a key regional point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders
- Implement compliant HR operational frameworks across countries
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external advisors for entity setup
- Ensure documentation and employee records meet local and global standards
- Partner with global HRIS and Talent Acquisition teams on system implementation
- Drive regional execution and readiness for system deployments
- Collaborate with global system owners to incorporate European requirements
- Act as the regional subject matter expert for system configuration
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and go-live readiness activities
- Ensure effective adoption of systems through clear processes and documentation
- Act as a central connector across Finance, Legal, IT, and global HR functions
- Ensure clear ownership and communication across stakeholders
- Identify and resolve gaps or dependencies across functions
- Implement payroll and benefits infrastructure through cross-functional partnership
- Establish HR operational processes aligned with global frameworks
- Collaborate across functions to enable smooth regional expansion
- Support scalable, compliant operations for continued growth
