Requirements
- Experience in prosecution of small/large molecules
- Ideally patent litigation experience
- Assist in IP strategy development and execution
- Close collaboration with Innovation Law group
- Build strong client relationships
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology
- Advanced degree in life sciences
- Scientific research experience in life sciences
- 5+ years as European Patent Attorney
- Minimum patent litigation experience
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Fluent in at least one other EPO official language
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Well-developed research skills
- Well-developed critical thinking skills
- Sound decision-making abilities

Tasks
- Manage and support key IP activities in Europe
- Contribute to IP disputes and legal proceedings
- Handle EP oppositions and prosecution strategies
- Advise on new PCT filings and European patent applications
- Monitor and review European IP related to strategic assets
- Provide IP counselling to commercialization teams
- Support patent, regulatory data exclusivity, and other IP issues
- Assist in IP diligences for transactions and in-licensing
- Support inter-company agreements
- Foster an IP culture within BMS
- Develop and implement IP training programs
- Train BMS business units on IP matters
