Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master’s) in engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations or other relevant discipline with relevant specialization
  • Advanced university degree (doctoral) in the relevant discipline
  • At least five years of professional experience in technical cooperation project management or portfolio project management including some exposure at the international level
  • Ability to research and analyse information independently and recommend solutions
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience in evaluating needs, conditions and problems in developing countries, and in technical cooperation project under the Montreal Protocol
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural teams
  • Experience/knowledge of other development agencies, donor communities, private sectors, government and relevant institutions
  • Experience in evaluating the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language

  • Analyze economic and social data for project proposals
  • Identify and justify project possibilities
  • Appraise and adjust project proposals for consistency
  • Formulate and present project proposals for approval
  • Develop project management schedules and methods
  • Coordinate with project personnel and service units
  • Exchange project information with government officials
  • Collaborate with multilateral and bilateral donor agencies
  • Monitor project execution through discussions and reports
  • Conduct field visits and participate in project reviews
  • Utilize project data for corrective actions and revisions
  • Organize and conduct project briefings and debriefings
  • Support global forum activities for knowledge transfer
  • Suggest engagement and outreach activities for networking
