Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations, or other relevant discipline
- At least 3 years of work experience in project development
- Ability to research and analyze information
- Desirable exposure to needs, conditions, and problems in developing countries
- Desirable experience in evaluating needs, conditions, and problems in developing countries
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Desirable fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language (Spanish or French)
Tasks
- Select, organize, and summarize project background information.
- Describe project context and technical cooperation activities.
- Assess local context for project planning and administration.
- Analyze and interpret project history and documentation.
- Identify significant project events and decisions.
- Reconstruct and document project deviations.
- Draft project background and justification sections.
- Develop international scenarios on non-ferrous metal trade.
- Inform project participants about logistical arrangements.
- Communicate internal monitoring and reporting procedures.
- Monitor specific aspects of project execution.
- Identify project execution problems.
- Propose actions to expedite input delivery.
- Draft comments on project preparation progress.
- Provide input for program monitoring planning.
- Draft project revisions.
- Adjust project budgets based on work plans.
- Perform other duties requested by Project Manager.
- Contribute to enhancing the unit and UNIDO's portfolio.
