Manufacturing Lead: Quality and Metrology(m/w/x)
Establishing AS9100-ready quality management and full traceability for mission-critical components in autonomous factories. 7+ years in aerospace/defense quality engineering with AS9100 certification experience required. Meaningful equity, high-stakes autonomy.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in quality engineering or metrology in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing
- Deep understanding of AS9100 / ISO 9001 aerospace quality management systems
- Experience leading or supporting AS9100 certification efforts
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements (plus)
- Hands-on experience with CMMs (Zeiss, Hexagon), 3D scanning, surface roughness measurement, and precision inspection equipment
- Ability to program CMM and interpret results
- Expert-level understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience with FAIR (AS9102), PPAP, or equivalent qualification processes
- Understanding of export compliance requirements (ITAR/EAR awareness)
- Software-driven mindset for metrology data as feedback loop
- Excitement for integrating measurement data into Factory OS for real-time quality control
Tasks
- Establish AS9100-ready quality management
- Implement full traceability for defense customers
- Develop metrology capabilities to meet specifications
- Oversee incoming material inspection
- Manage final dimensional verification
- Establish processes supporting CNC and additive manufacturing
- Establish measurement infrastructure supporting CNC and additive manufacturing
