Anforderungen

• PhD in Robotics or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years hardware design and robotics experience
• Expert-level CAD software skills
• Understanding of GD&T, actuators, and mechanisms
• Concept-to-prototype ability and workshop skills
• Complex problem solving and critical evaluation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience designing and building legged platforms
• Experience with elastomers and soft robotics
• Practical EE skills for functional prototypes
• Basic software or controls knowledge

Aufgaben

• Lead mechanical design for novel legged robots
• Perform actuator sizing and linkage design
• Identify COTS components versus custom hardware
• Integrate sensors and hardware into robot chassis
• Create detailed design documentation and drawings
• Build prototypes using in-house fabrication equipment
• Coordinate with external vendors for advanced manufacturing
• Construct robot stands and lab test fixtures
• Run experiments to evaluate subsystems and robots
• Investigate novel actuation and soft robotics technologies
• Write patents and academic scientific publications
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams
• Debug and repair robots during field operations
• Support team research and experimental hardware needs
