- Track record as Staff, Principal, or high-impact Senior Engineer
- Experience in complex, cloud-native environment
- Deep expertise in designing and operating distributed systems at scale
- Capability to evaluate API/architecture style trade-offs (GraphQL vs Restful vs gRPC, sync vs async)
- Capability to evaluate database technology trade-offs (relational vs non-relational)
- Demonstrated ability to make high-stakes architectural trade-offs
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts
- Clear, open, and concise English communication
- Advanced experience with modern DevOps, infrastructure, and security best practices
- Experience with Docker, Git, and modern security protocols (JWT, OAuth2)
- Experience driving 'Shift Left' security and DevOps maturity (highly desirable)
- Experience utilizing AI/ML tools or platforms
- Background in financial industry or highly regulated software products (significant advantage)
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
