- Identify high-value AI opportunities across the product
- Define AI capabilities and limitations
- Set boundaries for AI autonomy and human control
- Architect AI-driven workflows and systems
- Establish decision frameworks for AI actions
- Design for uncertainty, failures, and edge cases
- Apply design principles to shape AI behavior
- Ensure coherent and predictable AI systems
- Design human + AI workflows and experiences
- Integrate AI into real user workflows
- Define the role of human in the loop
- Ensure user trust and recovery from failures
- Partner with product designers to adapt experiences
- Define quality standards for AI outputs
- Design evaluation scenarios and feedback loops
- Analyze outputs to identify system weaknesses
- Design for system-level reliability
- Shape direction for zero-to-one problems
- Influence teams without formal authority
- Operate in a fast-moving, autonomous environment
- Lead ambiguous, in-flight work
- Bridge AI research, technical capabilities, and user needs
- Collaborate with ML scientists, PMs, and product designers
- Prototype and run focused experiments
- Regularly review and improve system outputs
