- Progressively responsible professional experience in internal oversight functions within international organizations
- Demonstrated managerial experience leading and supervising audit/investigation teams
- Proven experience conducting or directing complex and sensitive audits and investigations at international level
- Experience advising senior management on governance, internal controls, risk management, and results-based management
- Familiarity with data analytics, digital audit tools, and modern investigative techniques
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Fluency in or working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish, or another UN official language (desirable)

- Lead and oversee internal audits and investigations
- Provide assurance and advisory engagements across programs and operations
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls and risk management
- Develop and oversee an annual internal audit work plan
- Lead investigations into allegations of misconduct
- Administer a quality assurance process for multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise a centralized case management system
- Review and finalize high-level oversight reports
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior management
- Monitor and report on implementation of management action plans
- Leverage advanced technology tools for fraud detection
- Strengthen technical collaboration with oversight bodies
- Tailor oversight findings for different audiences
- Provide a clear vision for the oversight unit
- Represent the Unit in senior leadership engagements
- Lead risk-based planning for internal oversight
- Translate strategic direction into a balanced assurance portfolio
- Ensure timely and consistent delivery of engagements
- Incorporate lessons learned into Unit practices
- Ensure reporting quality and strategic alignment
- Manage and develop the internal oversight team
- Lead the quality assurance and improvement program
- Provide strategic support to the Director, Evaluation and Internal Oversight
- Represent UNIDO in UN-wide oversight fora
- Serve as a role model for integrity
