Valves Development Engineer [High-Thrust Rocket Engine](m/w/x)
Developing cryogenic flow control systems for a modular, reusable space orbital vehicle. Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience required. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship available.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline, or bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience
- Hands-on experience developing hardware from concept to working prototypes
- Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and mechanical design
- Good understanding of industry standard and emerging manufacturing methods and constraints
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software and drafting
- Experience writing software/scripts in languages like Python
- Ability to infer system-level implications of component design choices
- Proficient in conducting thermomechanical analysis
- Relevant experience with cryogenic fluids
- Strong ability to work in close collaboration with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong research skills and ability to infer useful information from partial or contradictory sources
- Drive towards excellence and ability to work within time constraints
- Proficiency in organization and prioritization of tasks
- Fluency in English
- Strong understanding of liquid-propellant rocket engines as a system (optional)
Tasks
- Design and develop cryogenic valves
- Perform engineering calculations for thermo-mechanical and stress-strain analysis
- Create 3D models and technical drawings using CAD/CAE tools
- Analyze and select materials for cryogenic and high-temperature applications
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and production teams
- Lead test campaigns and analyze results for design improvements
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and manuals
