Therapeutic Area Strategy Executive Director, Oncology & Hematology(m/w/x)
Guiding oncology/hematology pipeline development and licensing for a pharma firm. Substantial pharma R&D/commercial experience required. Hybrid work, reasonable accommodation for disability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree/equivalent experience in life science/healthcare; MBA or consulting/equivalent experience highly preferred
- In-depth TA knowledge in Oncology and Hematology or ability to acquire expertise rapidly
- High agility and capacity to support strategic DAs and multiple programs
- Substantial experience evaluating new product opportunities
- 7-9 years industry pharma/medical devices experience in R&D/commercial functions with primary research experience
- Experience in strategy development and early lifecycle asset shaping
- Recent (post 2015) local US in-market experience with US customers and systems
Tasks
- Support the creation and update of a holistic TA strategy
- Provide early-phase commercial insights to project teams
- Guide TA-specific internal pipeline development
- Guide external licensing and acquisitions opportunities
- Support integrated enterprise alignment across BR, Development, S&G, and Commercial units
- Provide external benchmarking, analysis, and insights
- Support the TA Strategy Head in developing a holistic Novartis TA strategy
- Derive insightful competitive advantages
- Provide key commercial insights to R&D project teams
- Analyze reports and publications to extract key messages
- Build product forecasts
- Support development of TA-specific strategic external insights
- Identify growth opportunities
- Identify emerging competitive challenges
- Support creation of a third-party view around key strategic levers
- Commission targeted primary research
