Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in technical field
- 8+ years aerospace/defense/space systems engineering experience
- Prior experience leading engineering teams/programs
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles
- Strong understanding of space mission lifecycle
- Proficiency with project management tools
- Certified PM (e.g. IPMA, PMP)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Eligibility to work in Germany / EU
- Knowledge of governmental contracts
- Experience with governmental contracts
- Experience with related security requirements
- German Ü2 security clearance or eligibility
- Experience with satellite systems
- Experience with propulsion systems
- Experience with launch integration
- Experience with spacecraft avionics
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with hybrid project methodologies
- Access to US export-controlled software/technology
Tasks
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver project milestones
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and risk registers
- Manage engineering change processes aligned with project goals
- Lead system-level design, integration, and verification efforts
- Participate in technical reviews to ensure engineering outputs meet mission requirements
- Identify and mitigate technical and security-related risks
- Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and government agencies
- Communicate technical and project status to non-technical stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and quality systems
- Assist in developing and improving engineering processes
- Oversee product assurance activities to meet quality and reliability requirements
