Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or maritime engineering
- Familiarity with ship classification societies and regulatory bodies
- Strong knowledge of marine systems, propulsion, power plants, and piping systems
- Ability to review and provide comments on technical drawings and system technical descriptions
- Proficiency in inspection techniques, quality control, and commissioning procedures
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international, and multi-disciplinary environment
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
Tasks
- Inspect technical installations for compliance with specifications
- Evaluate machinery and technical systems, including laundry and galleys
- Assess shipyard drawings and provide timely feedback
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure standards are met
- Collaborate with Class Society and shipyard on regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with DCL crew for smooth ship operations
- Promote a safety culture and maintain a safe working environment
- Follow up on defects and open remarks
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Technical Superintendent
