Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • At least 8 years of experience in the Maritime industry or 1 year experience in steel and paint inspections in ship’s new building projects
  • Extended knowledge of cruise ship operation and marine systems
  • Strategic thinking and solid business decision-making

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Tasks

  • Oversee nautical inspections and design development
  • Maintain Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Safety Standards
  • Assist the Marine Superintendent in budget observation
  • Attend official shipyard inspections, including steel and deck outfitting
  • Inspect surface preparation, paint application, and firefighting systems
  • Evaluate fire detection, navigation, lifesaving, safety, security, and medical equipment
  • Coordinate with shipyard, suppliers, consultants, and Disney Cruise Line Operations
  • Collaborate with the onboard Disney Cruise Line Deck Department
  • Provide feedback on maintenance opportunities for new builds
  • Ensure compliance with International rules and regulations
  • Assist with nautical aspects during official shipyard meetings
  • Support planning for the Start-up Operations Team
  • Coordinate with the Captain and Staff Captain during Sea Trials
  • Work with the Logistics Superintendent on Nautical Owners Furnished Equipment
  • Perform additional duties as delegated by the Marine Superintendent
