- Experience delivering within defence programmes

Tasks
- Ensure design decisions account for manufacturing, assembly, and testing
- Own design documentation, version control, and assembly instructions
- Support supplier selection and qualification
- Identify volume-available components and custom-development requirements
- Drive transition from prototype to production-ready build
- Lead integration of all subsystems
- Coordinate with Software Tech Lead for consistent software and hardware
- Define and execute test strategy from bench to open-water trials
- Capture findings and iterate design accordingly
- Resolve competing design approaches using whole-system UUV knowledge
- Assess options, make well-reasoned decisions, and communicate rationale
- Convert team expertise into forward momentum
- Advance maritime products from concept to fully buildable system
- Own trade-off decisions spanning mechanical, electrical, and embedded software
- Distinguish between ready-to-build and iterative designs
- Prevent unnecessary refinement cycles
- Embed scaled-manufacturing thinking from the outset
