Serial development of metal BIW and body structure parts for next-gen autonomous vehicles, with plant trials in Korea and EU. Minimum 3 years development experience for BIW/structure/closure parts at automotive OEM required. International travel for production plant trials in Korea and EU.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as body/closure part engineer at an automotive OEM
  • Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree with minimum of 3 years of development experience for BIW, structure or closure parts
  • Experience in serial part developments including design reviews, decision meetings, quality reviews and status reporting
  • Excellent market knowledge of body technologies related to materials, processes, supply chains and OEM requirements
  • Strong pro-active attitude and innovative mind with a strategic, organized, but very flexible working style
  • Analytical thinker with clear, output driven communication and strong deadline driven performance
  • Solid CATIA V5 skills and sound knowledge of MS Office, drawing release/BOM software
  • Willingness to travel frequently and good level of English in speech and writing

Tasks

  • Serve as the responsible engineer for serial development of metal parts related to BIW and body structures
  • Oversee the development of Structure and Closure parts from initial concept to Start of Production
  • Optimize cost, weight, performance, design, materials, customer usage, assembly, and part quality
  • Create CAD designs using CATIA while focusing on engineering optimization
  • Participate in production plant trials in Korea and the EU to address quality and assembly issues
  • Report on European body innovations through a network of industry experts and suppliers
  • Evaluate innovations based on cost, weight, and performance for Hyundai management
  • Continuously update EU and Korean management on part development progress
