(Sr.) ENGINEER FOR BODY MECHANISM ENGINEERING DESIGN(m/w/x)
Leading development of wipers, mirrors, and glass systems for next-gen connected, autonomous vehicles. 3+ years of body development experience at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier required. Participation in production plant trials in Korea and the EU.
Requirements
- Solid experience as body part engineer at an automotive OEM or key Tier 1 supplier
- Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree
- Minimum of 3 years of professional body development experience
- Deep know-how about automotive requirements and R&D processes
- Experience in serial part developments including design reviews and quality reviews
- Excellent market knowledge of body technologies related to materials and processes
- Strong pro-active attitude and innovative mind
- Analytical thinker with output driven communication
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, CATIA V5 and drawing release/BOM software
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Good level of English in speech and writing
- Possession of valid European driver license B
Tasks
- Lead development of body mechanism parts for future vehicles
- Oversee engineering for components like wipers, mirrors, and glass systems
- Drive projects from initial concept to Start of Production (SOP)
- Optimize cost, weight, performance, design, materials, and quality
- Participate in production plant trials in Korea and the EU
- Address quality and assembly issues during tool and part development
- Analyze the EU market and competitors for body mechanism insights
- Make recommendations based on cost, weight, and performance
- Network with industry experts and report on European body innovations
- Evaluate solutions for cost, weight, and performance for management
- Provide regular updates on part development progress to management
