(Sr.) Engineer for Interior / Seat Engineering Design(m/w/x)
Oversee engineering of interior/seat components for next-gen connected/autonomous vehicles, from concept to SOP, with plant trials in Korea and EU. Solid experience as body part engineer at automotive OEM or key Tier 1 supplier required. International travel for plant trials in Korea and EU.
Requirements
- Solid experience as body part engineer at automotive OEM or key Tier 1 supplier
- Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree with minimum 3 years of body development experience
- Experience in serial part developments including design reviews and quality reviews
- Excellent market knowledge of body technologies related to materials and processes
- Strong pro-active attitude and innovative mind with flexible working style
- Analytical thinker with output driven communication and strong deadline performance
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, CATIA V5 and drawing release/BOM software
- Good level of English in speech and writing
Tasks
- Lead development of interior trim parts for future vehicles
- Oversee engineering of interior and seat components, including seats, door trims, pillar trims, headliners, and carpets
- Manage development from initial concept to Start of Production (SOP) and throughout product life cycles
- Target optimizations in cost, weight, performance, design, materials, customer usage, assembly, and part quality
- Participate in production plant trials in Korea and the EU to address quality and assembly issues
- Analyze the EU market and competitors to provide recommendations on cost, weight, and performance
- Report on European body innovations through a network of industry experts, suppliers, and conferences
- Evaluate solutions based on cost, weight, and performance for Hyundai management
- Continuously update EU and Korean management on part development progress and production plant status
