Requirements
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and ARP4761A
- Familiarity with systems engineering best practices
- Proficiency in safety analysis tools
- Experience with Jama, DOORS, or similar
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in MBSE (advantageous)
Tasks
- Apply a comprehensive system safety approach within specific programs
- Refine system safety processes across all company programs
- Integrate safety practices into organization design and development lifecycles
- Conduct safety assessments including AFHA, SFHA, PASA, PSSA, ASA, SSA, and PRA
- Perform hazard analyses and risk assessments at all system levels
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-882 processes and tasks
- Develop and manage traceable system safety requirements
- Support engineering groups with safety integration in design processes
- Maintain a System Safety Program Plan following MIL-STD-882 and ARP4754B
- Present safety cases to stakeholders to influence decision-making
- Participate in safety audits to confirm regulatory adherence
