Senior Production Engineer – Avionics(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional experience in avionics, harness manufacturing, electrical integration, or high-reliability production
- Proven process ownership in industrial environment (preferably aerospace, defence, EV, or regulated industry)
- Deep understanding of harness design, connectors, shielding, routing, termination, testing, and integration
- Experience with procedure creation/restructuring in assembly environment
- Experience in lean manufacturing and risk assessment
- Knowledge of PLM and/or MES systems in assembly environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and complex assembly troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks
- Project management skills, including effective communication
- Fluent English; German knowledge (plus)
- Previous experience as process or assembly engineer
- Aerospace experience (preferably electrical vehicle development)
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory related to harness assembly (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620)
- Prior experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, programming language (e.g., Python/C++) or similar
- Ability to read P&ID and Fluid Drawings
- Security clearance requirements (SÜG § 13 para. 1 no. 17) compliance
Tasks
- Lead transition from prototype to series production.
- Ensure avionics meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability.
- Ensure avionics meet requirements for launch operations.
- Ensure avionics meet requirements for spacecraft manufacturing.
- Collaborate with development, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Collaborate with external suppliers.
- Develop scalable, efficient, and reliable avionics production processes.
- Manage end-to-end manufacturing for avionics assemblies.
- Manage end-to-end manufacturing for electrical harnesses.
- Oversee routing, termination, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Lead industrialization and NPI for new avionics systems.
- Implement PFMEA, control plans, and process capability studies.
- Perform validation for new avionics systems.
- Manage cost and schedule planning for avionics production.
- Perform forecasting for avionics production.
- Optimize takt time, throughput, and resource utilization.
- Continuously improve takt time, throughput, and resource utilization.
- Manage investments for the complete production line.
- Collaborate with design engineers, R&D teams, and stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless integration of harness assembly processes.
- Define test requirements and procedures.
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of harness assembly equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
