Requirements

  • Proven experience as Senior Software Engineer or Platform Engineer on internal platforms, infrastructure, or developer tooling
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems in production
  • Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation in cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of security principles in modern software delivery (IAM, least-privilege design, secrets management, secure defaults)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and trunk-based development
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, internal platforms, and self-service models
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with production experience in at least one general-purpose language (e.g., Go, Python, TypeScript)
  • Systems thinking ability to anticipate infrastructure/platform decision effects
  • Comfort working with senior engineers and security stakeholders
  • Pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset (optimizing for adoption, reliability, security, flow)

Tasks

  • Design, implement, and maintain core platform components
  • Develop CI/CD and self-service capabilities
  • Build delivery pipelines and service templates
  • Create developer tooling and internal APIs
  • Integrate observability and cloud/runtime abstractions
  • Build and evolve opinionated golden paths
  • Make trade-offs for flexibility, standardization, and maintainability
  • Translate product vision into engineering solutions
  • Define strong defaults and clear boundaries
  • Own platform defaults end-to-end
  • Ensure defaults are secure, observable, and compliant
  • Ensure defaults are cost-aware and production-ready
  • Ensure platform adoption from an engineering perspective
  • Improve usability and documentation quality
  • Provide migration support and manage deprecations
  • Contribute to architectural decisions optimizing system throughput
  • Design platform capabilities for reliability and observability
  • Ensure security and compliance by design
  • Continuously improve developer workflows
  • Reduce lead time, failure rates, and cognitive load
  • Guide improvements using DevEx and flow metrics
  • Challenge existing tooling, patterns, and assumptions
  • Abstract complexity for engineering teams
  • Ensure transparency and debuggability
  • Partner with Product, SRE, and Security teams
  • Align platform capabilities with delivery, reliability, and compliance
  • Influence engineering teams with clear technical direction
  • Establish strong defaults and well-reasoned trade-offs
