Tasks
- Contribute to end-to-end material availability for apparel
- Support strategic marketing and design direction
- Select materials according to timelines, target prices, and quality standards
- Lead continuous improvement of internal processes and initiatives
- Represent Materials Development Team on management level
- Serve as key contact for material-related questions
- Lead cross-functional and global partner discussions on materials
- Steer material selection process and drive consolidation
- Collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Quality teams
- Identify and develop strategic material management tools and reports
- Ensure accuracy of materials data in internal systems
- Identify new material sources and enable dual developments
- Support LO sourcing on counter developments
- Guide Tier 2 suppliers to create innovative materials
- Monitor seasonal material developments with suppliers
- Negotiate initial material prices and proto sampling yardage
- Manage invoices for fabric and proto development bookings
- Ensure materials are tested and released by Materials Quality
- Manage color and lab dip processes with Tier 2 suppliers
- Conduct material risk management analysis
- Lead proactive risk management activities
- Create focused material toolbox and improve efficiencies
- Consolidate and verify materials library
- Drive internal process management and improvement
- Develop and execute material usage reports
- Align systems and process needs with IT owners
- Maintain and communicate material timelines
- Represent Materials team in cross-functional projects
- Provide latest material trend information
- Translate innovation and sustainability concepts to business plans
