Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Simulation & GenAI(m/w/x)
AI-based 3D reconstruction of driving scenes, evaluating GenAI models for simulation enhancement in automotive virtual development. Hands-on expertise in quantization, model compression, or experiment design essential. Six weeks annual leave, profit sharing.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Mathematics, Physics, or comparable qualifications
- Several years of experience in ML Engineering or MLOps
- Ideal hands-on expertise in quantization, model compression, experiment design, ablations, data quality, metrics & evaluation, or architecture optimization
- Deep understanding of modern AI model architectures, training pipelines, distributed learning, and GPU optimization
- Confidence working with synthetic data, augmentation strategies, and data-driven model downsizing
- Engineering skills: Python (plus C++/Rust), CUDA, API design, testing, debugging across the stack, Git
- Knowledge in 3D authoring tools like Blender, glTF, Unreal, RoadRunner (plus)
- Knowledge in 3D scene creation or algorithmic 3D reconstruction (plus)
Tasks
- Perform AI-based 3D reconstruction of driving scenes.
- Develop AI models for intelligent traffic participants.
- Evaluate and select GenAI models for simulation enhancement.
- Design scalable training and MLOps infrastructure.
- Operate scalable training and MLOps infrastructure.
- Implement distributed training solutions.
- Build automated evaluation pipelines.
- Optimize cloud and on-prem compute usage.
- Optimize GPU toolchain, scheduling, and profiling.
- Manage GPU resource allocation.
- Contribute to driver assistance system simulation.
- Evaluate simulation quality.
- Assess toolchain and model behavior.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams.
