Requirements
- 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or similar
- Advanced AWS hands-on experience (IAM, EC2, EKS, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Kubernetes design, debug, and operation mastery
- Terraform expertise (modules, workspaces, complex architectures)
- Automation proficiency in Python, Go, or similar
- GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD system design/maintenance
- Observability familiarity (metrics, logging, tracing, incident response)
- Communication of complex infra concepts to developers/stakeholders
- Based in Berlin or willing to relocate for in-person role
- Relentless problem-solving attitude
- High personal quality standards
- Proactive and independent problem-solving
- Systems-first approach to problem-solving and automation
Tasks
- Shape infrastructure, automation, and reliability standards
- Drive big projects autonomously
- Build and operate AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident response
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams
- Design for failure and automate processes
- Ramp up on current infrastructure and identify rough edges
- Start and ship a big project within the first two months
- Ship a major project in the third and fourth months
- Scope the next project on the roadmap
- Shape the infrastructure roadmap with the Lead DevOps
- Plan and lead projects to ensure platform reliability and safety
- Write backend code and learn new tooling
- Address issues that block developers
- Design infrastructure for a bank running on agents
- Own the entire problem end to end
- Maintain Jenkins and write Helm charts
- Operate under banking-grade regulatory scrutiny
- Work effectively with a small team
