Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Cybernetics, or related field
  • 5+ years embedded/flight control software development for complex/safety-critical systems
  • Strong C/C++ proficiency for embedded/real-time systems
  • Basic scripting skills (preferably Python) for tooling/automation
  • Experience with UAV state estimation/control systems or similar autonomous platforms
  • Hands-on experience with flight stacks (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot)
  • Experience integrating sensors (e.g., IMU, GPS) and communication protocols
  • Familiarity with CMake, Docker, Git, and automated testing frameworks
  • Strong debugging skills in simulation and embedded environments
  • Solid problem-solving skills and teamwork ability
  • Experience with safety/certification standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C)
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • English fluency; German is a plus

Tasks

  • Design and refine GNC algorithms for UAV platforms
  • Enhance flight stack for improved autonomy and robustness
  • Contribute to scalable system architecture
  • Implement control software on RTOS-based embedded platforms
  • Optimize real-time performance and system stability
  • Support architectural trade-offs for performance, power, safety, and scalability
  • Develop and tune multi-sensor fusion pipelines
  • Ensure accurate and reliable state estimation
  • Support verification activities aligned with DO-178C
  • Conduct requirements-based testing, SIL/HIL, simulation, and flight test support
  • Contribute to CI pipelines and static analysis
  • Participate in automated testing and code reviews
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and design specifications
