Requirements

- Several years industrial experience with CAD or geometry processing systems
- Strong knowledge of geometry representations (B Rep, point clouds, signed distance functions, implicit representations)
- Experience with 3D kernels
- Profound knowledge of applying machine learning to 3D geometry
- Familiarity with geometric deep learning architectures (GNNs, diffusion models, PointNet++, or similar)
- Geometry encoding for large scale models
- Beneficial technical understanding of engineering processes (design, parametric CAD modelling, CAE simulations, manufacturing)
- Strong English communication skills
- German language skills (plus)
Tasks
- Develop expertise in ML models for 3D geometries
- Benchmark ML methods for understanding relationships in geometries, text, and other modalities
- Apply ML methods in industrial product development workflows
- Evaluate ML methods with domain experts
- Support AI-first data infrastructure for training foundation models
- Collaborate with external partners (startups, hyperscalers, AI labs)
