Research Associate - Protein Analytics & Food Characterization(m/w/x)
HPLC-UV analysis and physicochemical testing of bio-identical milk proteins. Practical lab experience in protein analytics required. Employee equity and long-term ownership.
Requirements
- Master's degree/diploma in food chemistry, food technology, biochemistry, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, or related field
- Practical lab experience in protein analytics and/or characterization of food ingredients (e.g., internships during studies or initial professional experience)
- Sound knowledge and initial practical experience in food chemistry or food technology methods desirable, especially in functional characterization of proteins and powders
- Good understanding of analytical method development and validation
- Excellent documentation and data evaluation skills
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
- Very good English skills (written and spoken, at least B1 level)
Tasks
- Conduct and optimize HPLC-UV analysis
- Characterize proteins and protein powders physically and functionally
- Support research projects with high-quality analytical data
- Collaborate with bio-engineers, food scientists, and fermentation experts
- Perform a wide range of physicochemical and functional tests on protein powders
- Test protein solubility, viscosity, foaming capacity and stability, emulsifying capacity and stability
- Document results meticulously
- Critically evaluate and report data to the team
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical equipment
- Contribute to method optimization
- Support ongoing R&D projects
