Quantum Error Correction Engineer(m/w/x)
Developing and analyzing quantum error-correcting codes for superconducting quantum computers, including lattice surgery design. Ph.D. in relevant field and strong publication record in high-impact journals required. Work with full-stack quantum computing solutions and cloud access.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in theoretical physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar field
- Deep knowledge of quantum error-correcting codes, fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, or decoding algorithms
- At least 2 years professional experience developing scientific software (Python, C/C++, Rust)
- Strong publication record (at least two scientific papers in high-impact journals)
- Clear communication of complex technical concepts across interdisciplinary teams
- Collaborative mindset and comfort in team-oriented research/engineering environment
- At least 3 years experience in quantum error-correcting code design, multi-qubit logical gate implementations, fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, algorithm-specific error correction, decoding algorithms (belief propagation, union-find, MWPM), machine-learning-based decoding, or FPGA-based decoding implementation
- Knowledge of superconducting qubits theory
- Experience with hardware or experimental quantum teams
- Drive to keep expertise current and continuously expand knowledge
- Ability to create elegant, structured solutions in complex theoretical/technical landscapes
- Strong ownership of code quality, testing, and documentation
- Understanding of balancing immediate project goals with long-term scalability/extensibility

- Develop and analyze quantum error-correcting codes with realistic constraints
- Design and evaluate fault-tolerant operations, including lattice surgery
- Contribute to fault-tolerant quantum algorithms
- Contribute to algorithm-specific error correction approaches
- Design, benchmark, and improve graph-based decoding algorithms
- Design, benchmark, and improve machine-learning decoding algorithms
- Implement and optimize decoding algorithms in Python, C/C++, Rust
- Deploy optimized decoding algorithms on FPGA platforms
- Perform resource estimation for error-corrected architectures
- Conduct scalability analysis for error-corrected architectures
- Align error correction strategies with QPU capabilities
- Publish research in scientific journals
- Present research at scientific conferences
- Maintain high code quality standards
- Ensure code scalability and maintainability
