Calibrating and benchmarking latest-generation QPUs for quantum computers. Python programming and quantum mechanics knowledge required. Hybrid setup, flexible hours.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of quantum mechanics and computing principles
- Experience with Python programming and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work with complex experimental data
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Experimental experience with superconducting qubits and calibration techniques
- Familiarity with optimization algorithms and techniques
- Experience with experimental quantum hardware or calibration workflows
- Curiosity and motivation to improve quantum hardware performance
- Hands-on and comfortable working with experimental systems
- Collaborative and able to communicate across teams
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking
- Ambition to contribute to large-scale quantum computing systems
Tasks
- Calibrate and benchmark latest-generation QPUs
- Develop and improve calibration protocols
- Optimize strategies for large-scale processors
- Analyze experimental data for performance bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Perform measurements on superconducting qubit devices
- Provide feedback to design, simulation, and fabrication teams
- Contribute to system-level optimization
- Balance performance and efficiency
- Input to calibration software development
- Support automated QPU tune-up frameworks
- Prepare QPUs for deployment
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineering teams
