- Strong software development experience in Python, C++, Rust, or similar high-performance languages
- Experience building reliable software for complex systems
- Comfort working with domain experts and translating research questions
- Good engineering habits: version control, code reviews, testing
- Confidence working in ambiguity, ability to iterate and learn fast
- Familiarity with quantum computing concepts
- Experience with real-time systems, low-latency pipelines, or control loops
- Exposure to domain specific languages, compilers, interpreters, or intermediate representations
- Experience with experiment data modeling and telemetry
- Interest in research-facing engineering
Tasks
- Design and implement quantum error correction software
- Translate high-level domain-specific language to lower-level code
- Build scalable data pipelines for fault tolerance analysis
- Develop modular and configurable software components
- Support real-time decoding and feedforward in experiments
- Collaborate with quantum researchers and experimental teams
- Transfer knowledge bidirectionally between research and engineering
- Participate in daily standups and weekly meetings
- Contribute to technical decisions and project delivery
