Project Planning Manager(m/w/x)
In this role, you will manage project schedules by analyzing tender documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and developing quality schedules. Daily responsibilities include optimizing timelines, identifying risks, and ensuring on-time deliverables while mentoring fellow planners.
Requirements
- Engineering or Business degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in planning and scheduling
- Industrial or construction background
- Detailed knowledge of scheduling theory and methods
- Proficiency in one scheduling tool (OdyC, Primavera, etc.) and familiarity with an additional scheduling software tool (Kinaxis, MS Project, TILOS)
- Advanced skills in MS Excel or other data analysis tools
- Knowledge of time-related contractual obligations and principles of delay analysis
- Basic comprehension of railway industry products and technologies
- Curiosity and drive to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills and effective teamwork
- Ability to challenge and guide teams proactively
- Adaptability in a multi-cultural and rapidly changing environment
Tasks
- Analyze tender documentation for schedule management requirements
- Set and adhere to a timeline for tender preparation
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project schedule interfaces
- Contribute to the project execution strategy
- Develop the tender schedule based on contract requirements
- Identify the critical path and risks in the project schedule
- Suggest optimization and mitigation actions for the schedule
- Highlight differences between initial assumptions and final tender schedule
- Draft the tender schedule narrative
- Ensure timely delivery of schedule-related deliverables
- Present scheduling information during tender gate reviews
- Develop quality schedules per company procedures and stakeholder inputs
- Optimize schedules for on-time delivery and resource utilization
- Validate the baseline schedule
- Create a Project Time Management Plan
- Organize and lead regular project schedule review sessions
- Align commitments of stakeholders and manage schedule interfaces
- Monitor adherence to schedule quality standards
- Identify critical paths and delays in complex schedules
- Guide the project team in risk mitigation and opportunity seizing
- Lead preparation of schedule and progress reports with KPIs
- Support the Contract Manager in time-related disputes
- Provide assistance on schedule-related issues
- Mentor and support other planners
