Project Finance Officer(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Degree in accounting or financial management
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in comparable position
- Experience ideally within non-profit organisation
- Understanding of tax issues (VAT, HGB)
- Understanding of non-profit regulations
- Experience in accounting for grants
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Excellent familiarity with Excel
- Fluency in English
- Experience in non-profit organisations
- German language skills
- Ability to work independently

Tasks
- Support budget development during project proposal phase
- Align budgets with organisational objectives and donor requirements
- Manage budget monitoring tools for Project Managers
- Develop forecasts and cash flow projections
- Revise budgets as needed throughout project lifecycle
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor regulations
- Prepare financial reports for donors
- Submit payment requests according to donor requirements
- Compile internal financial reports for management
- Conduct budget vs. actual analysis
- Identify variances and implement corrective actions
- Support expenditure verifications and audits
- Manage financial operations of partners and sub-grantees
- Provide financial guidance to partners
- Monitor project expenditures in ERP system
- Ensure transactions are accurately and timely recorded
- Maintain proper bookkeeping and accounting practices
- Document all project-related financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with German accounting standards (HGB)
- Prepare financial statements under local regulations
- Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors
- Align financial procedures with organisational and funding requirements
