Product Design Engineer(m/w/x)
Structural design execution for aerospace components, from concept to qualification. 2+ years of experience with composite/metallic materials and structural analysis required. Freshly prepared meals, Germany Ticket, and Egym Wellpass.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or related structural field (BSc minimum; MSc or PhD preferred)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in structural design or analysis
- Strong understanding of composite and metallic materials and their structural behaviour
- Hands-on experience with structural analysis, modelling, and results interpretation
- Solid understanding of design-for-manufacturing and bridging design intent with production reality
- Proven problem-solving and design optimisation skills, including working with incomplete information
- Confident communicator across functions, able to challenge and align
- Previous responsibility for a design that went into production
- English fluency for day-to-day and technical discussions
- CAD design proficiency
- Experience with failure analysis or structural optimisation
- Background in aerospace, space, motorsport, hydrogen storage, or high-performance engineering environment
- German language skills
Tasks
- Ensure structural integrity in all design decisions
- Own structural design execution across development projects
- Continuously improve design methods and processes
- Identify and resolve technical risks and design weaknesses early
- Drive projects from concept to qualification
- Deliver commitments on time without prompting
- Implement at least one improvement per project
- Lead and unblock tasks proactively
- Flag and resolve at-risk commitments early
- Collaborate with design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing teams
- Constructively challenge assumptions and commit to decisions
- Maintain strong, conflict-free working relationships
- Surface technical risks and process gaps clearly
- Document and actively resolve identified issues
- Explore new design methods and challenge existing practices
- Propose and implement better approaches
- Engage in cross-functional development initiatives
- Learn from bold experiments and failures
