Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or related life-science discipline
  • Longstanding experience, preferably in industrial drug discovery
  • Strong expertise in high-throughput assay development, screening, and compound profiling
  • Solid background in biochemical and/or biophysical assay systems
  • Sound knowledge of enzymology for molecular pharmacology questions
  • Mode-of-action studies knowledge
  • Solid understanding of assay robustness and data quality for HTS performance
  • Knowledge of relevant screening statistics
  • Additional expertise in DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) screening and follow-up workflows is an advantage
  • Additional expertise in mass spectrometry-based screening or affinity-selection MS is an advantage
  • Additional expertise in Biophysical assays (e.g., SPR, MST, nanoDSF) is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in multidisciplinary and matrix environments
  • Proven leadership capabilities

Tasks

  • Lead high-throughput screening and profiling assays
  • Drive scientific excellence and assay innovation
  • Collaborate across Drug Discovery Sciences, Therapeutic Areas, and Medicinal Chemistry
  • Provide scientific and strategic guidance for project support
  • Design and develop robust biochemical assays
  • Implement high-throughput technologies for hit finding and compound optimization
  • Define and drive screening strategies for chemical starting points
  • Select and assess data quality for screening outcomes
  • Represent HTB in cross-disciplinary project teams
  • Contribute to scientific and technological innovation
  • Serve as an expert in biophysical assays (DEL, SPR/DSF, AS-MS, spectral-shift)
  • Identify key scientific needs and set priorities
  • Jointly define hit-finding and early drug discovery strategies
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • Foster a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration
  • Prioritize workloads with global HTB objectives
