Precision Opto-Mechanical Process Engineer - Co Packaged Optics(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optics / Optical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
- >5 years hands-on opto-mechanical process development, assembly, alignment experience
- Experience in co-packaged optics or high-precision optical/mechanical assembly technologies
- Several years practical experience with early-stage automation, prototype equipment, or R&D manufacturing setups
- Experience defining KPIV/KPOV frameworks and inline/end-of-line measurement concepts
- Knowledge of structured process development methodologies (DoE, FMEA) and process development from scratch
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Experience in process development with optical alignment automation (active, passive, Pick & Place, Bonding)
- Experience with fiber arrays, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), or advanced optical packaging
- Solid understanding of optical alignment principles, tolerances, GD&T, and process capability
- Familiarity with dispensing technologies, bonding processes, precision handling systems
- Experience transferring processes to external manufacturing/automation partners
- Experience in CAD (Creo preferred)

- Define opto-mechanical interfaces for robustness.
- Define opto-mechanical interfaces for yield.
- Develop optical assemblies on R&D setups.
- Develop alignment processes on R&D setups.
- Analyze processes for cycle time, yield, and cost.
- Optimize processes for cycle time, yield, and cost.
- Design automation concepts for key process steps.
- Evaluate automation concepts for key process steps.
- Define KPIVs for critical process steps.
- Define KPOVs for critical process steps.
- Establish measurement concepts.
- Establish monitoring concepts.
- Prepare processes for manufacturing transfer.
- Prepare processes for external partner transfer.
- Create process documentation.
