Postdoctoral Researcher - Computational & Translational Analysis of Pulmonary Nodules(m/w/x)
Integrating spatial transcriptomics, genomic, and histopathological data for pulmonary nodule analysis. Strong omics data analysis and unsupervised learning skills required. State-of-the-art infrastructure, international exchange, 30 days vacation.
Requirements
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, biomedical data science, cancer biology, or related field
- Strong experience in omics data analysis, including single-cell or spatial transcriptomics
- Proficiency in R and/or Python and modern data-analysis workflows
- Experience with unsupervised learning, clustering, and integrative analysis
- Ability to translate computational findings into meaningful biological and translational insights
- Strong interest in early cancer detection and biomarker discovery
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences
- Empathy, active listening, and comfort engaging with non-expert stakeholders
- Ability to discuss uncertainty and non-actionable findings responsibly
- Confidence contributing to group facilitation without reliance on hierarchical authority

Tasks
- Lead unbiased integration of spatial transcriptomics data
- Analyze genomic alteration profiles
- Integrate histopathological diagnoses and clinical metadata
- Collaborate on radiomic feature analysis
- Perform unsupervised clustering and pattern discovery
- Interpret molecular and microenvironmental states of pulmonary nodules
- Identify biomarkers for liquid biopsy development
- Prioritize PET tracer target discovery
- Contribute to validation strategies with pathologists
- Prepare high-impact interdisciplinary publications
- Act as a scientific integrator across research groups
- Communicate with clinicians, pathologists, imaging scientists, and technologists
- Maintain reproducible and well-documented analysis workflows
- Participate in participant-driven co-design process
- Develop framework for returning molecular and imaging data
- Contribute scientific content to patient workshops
- Create plain-language communication materials
- Co-facilitate workshops with ethicists and communication experts
- Synthesize participant feedback into structured outputs
- Create return-of-data blueprint and prototype participant reports
- Evaluate framework for future implementation
