Requirements

• Degree in forestry, environmental sciences, or sustainability
• Familiarity with FSC Forest Management certification
• Knowledge of responsible forest management practices
• Training in Project Management or FSC Certification
• Professional experience in standards development or certification
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Time management, diligence, and accuracy
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and Word
• Ability to derive insights from data
• Conversation leadership and timely conclusion skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Conflict management skills
• Assertiveness
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Spanish (advantageous)
• Fluency in French (advantageous)
• Ability to explain complex topics simply

Tasks

• Contribute to the revision of FSC Principles and Criteria
• Provide expert advice on Forest Management normative documents
• Plan and execute workshops and calibration meetings
• Lead pilot projects for responsible forest management
• Analyze implementation data to identify areas for improvement
• Monitor trends and emerging issues in forest stewardship
• Process interpretation and derogation requests
• Respond to technical enquiries from partners and certification bodies
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
• Represent the organization in technical and public fora
• Develop interpretations and derogations for established requirements
• Collect data on implementation efforts and alignment needs
