Policy Manager Forest Management(m/w/x)

Description

You will drive the evolution of forest stewardship by providing technical expertise for the revision of FSC Principles and Criteria while guiding partners through complex implementation and policy alignment.

Requirements

• •Degree in forestry, environmental sciences, or sustainability
• •Familiarity with FSC Forest Management certification
• •Knowledge of responsible forest management practices
• •Training in Project Management or FSC Certification
• •Professional experience in standards development or certification
• •Analytical and critical thinking abilities
• •Strong written and verbal communication skills
• •Time management, diligence, and accuracy
• •Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
• •Proficiency in MS Office 365 and Word
• •Ability to derive insights from data
• •Conversation leadership and timely conclusion skills
• •Strong presentation skills
• •Conflict management skills
• •Assertiveness
• •Fluency in English
• •Fluency in Spanish (advantageous)
• •Fluency in French (advantageous)
• •Ability to explain complex topics simply

Tasks

• •Contribute to the revision of FSC Principles and Criteria
• •Provide expert advice on Forest Management normative documents
• •Plan and execute workshops and calibration meetings
• •Lead pilot projects for responsible forest management
• •Analyze implementation data to identify areas for improvement
• •Monitor trends and emerging issues in forest stewardship
• •Process interpretation and derogation requests
• •Respond to technical enquiries from partners and certification bodies
• •Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
• •Represent the organization in technical and public fora
• •Develop interpretations and derogations for established requirements
• •Collect data on implementation efforts and alignment needs
