Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or science field
- 3-5 years semiconductor process or equipment engineering experience in manufacturing fab
- Solid understanding of semiconductor single-unit processes, tool hardware, vacuum systems, RF plasma, thermal processes, or chemical reactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English
- Conversational German skills
Tasks
- Develop and optimize plasma-based semiconductor processes
- Characterize PECVD deposition, RIE, IBE, and plasma ashing systems
- Define and refine process windows and plasma parameters
- Use DOE and statistical analysis for process optimization
- Investigate yield excursions and plasma-induced defects
- Establish process control strategies for film thickness and etch rate
- Support transfer of new plasma recipes to high-volume manufacturing
- Lead equipment selection and specification for new tools
- Drive tool qualification and process-tool matching
- Monitor and improve equipment uptime and throughput
- Interface with vendors for troubleshooting and maintenance
- Analyze large datasets from inline metrology tools
- Develop automation scripts and monitoring dashboards
- Participate in FMEA and risk assessments
- Drive cycle time reduction and plasma consumable optimization
- Reduce cost-of-poor-quality through continuous improvement
- Provide technical support for production teams
- Collaborate with global engineering teams
- Document process recipes and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with quality standards
