Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Engineer - Verification & Integration(m/w/x)
PIC characterization and verification for photonic/quantum computing and sensing, developing Python automation. Photodiode physics understanding and integrated circuit testing experience required. Max. 1 day remote work, at a photonic technology scale-up.
Requirements
- Master's degree, Ph.D., or comparable qualification
- Initial work experience in related field
- Understanding of photodiode physics and integration
- Hands-on Python experience
- Experience in PIC testing and alignment
- Familiarity with TFLN / LNOI platforms (advantageous)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to think across systems
- Structured, problem-solving mindset
- Fluent English and beneficial German skills
Tasks
- Design and execute PIC characterization routines
- Perform experimental verification and data analysis
- Statistically evaluate key performance parameters
- Develop Python-based analysis and automation scripts
- Manage the photodiode-PIC hybrid integration workflow
- Coordinate assembly, characterization, and validation processes
- Implement characterization schemes for new modules
- Align integration strategies with internal teams
- Manage external suppliers and research partners
- Track project status and communicate progress
- Establish integration schedules and define milestones
- Drive risk mitigation for novel components
- Propose optimization strategies for technology roadmaps
- Document analysis steps, code, and results
- Maintain detailed decision and action logs
