- 5+ years building compilers and co-designing hardware
- Expertise in systems architecture and programming languages
- Master's, PhD, or equivalent industry experience
- Fluency in English
- German language skills (beneficial)
- Experience with heterogeneous compute architectures (plus)
- Experience defining MLIR dialects (plus)
- Experience with AI frameworks (plus)
- Background in photonics (beneficial)
Tasks
- Design and deliver the LLVM/MLIR compiler stack
- Define the MLIR dialect for photonic computing
- Build paths into hardware interfaces
- Co-design system architecture and Instruction Set Architecture
- Shape hardware design for high parallelism
- Optimize on-device execution for low latency
- Provide technical guidance to algorithm teams
- Develop high-performance compute kernels
- Drive profiling and performance analysis
- Identify bottlenecks in compiler-generated code
- Coordinate development with system and ASIC teams
- Lead collaboration with external partners
- Contribute to company Open Source initiatives
- Engage with the LLVM/MLIR community
