Requirements

  • Delight in engaging within international, multidisciplinary training programme
  • Willingness to undertake one-year research placement at University of Melbourne, Australia
  • Readiness to engage within LPJ-GUESS community
  • Willingness to travel between KIT-Campus Alpin and KIT Karlsruhe

Tasks

  • Familiarize with ecosystem model LPJ-GUESS
  • Develop parameterization of European forest species
  • Review literature and data for parameterization
  • Integrate plant functional trait approaches
  • Conduct simulations and evaluate results
  • Develop model applications and simulation setups
  • Analyze and document simulation results
  • Prepare and publish research findings
  • Collaborate with international research partners
  • Participate in C4LaNd research training group
  • Contribute to dual PhD degree program
  • Undertake one-year research stay in Melbourne, Australia
